James Duddridge MP has become the latest Southend resident to offer a helping hand to the local community in the event of wintry weather.
The MP for Rochford and Southend East has joined the town's Snow Warden scheme currently being rolled out by Southend Borough Council and waste management company Veolia.
Snow Wardens provide extra support for local residents by using equipment provided to clear driveways and paths of ice to assist their neighbours and others on the pavements.
After collecting his snow shovel, high-vis jacket and salt grit, James said:
"This is a simple, positive scheme that allows residents to help their local community and having become a fully fledged Snow Warden myself, I am ready to do my bit in the event of any adverse weather!"
Those interested in joining James and other Southend residents in becoming a Snow Warden can find out more by calling Veolia on 0203 567 6955 or emailing [email protected].
